Dental Health Week (DHW) is the Australian Dental Association’s (ADA) major annual oral health campaign. This year, it runs from 1 to 7 August. The campaign focuses on the importance of taking steps to care for your teeth and gums to help you keep your teeth and smile for life.
The Power of Prevention
Here are some tips to keep your smile healthy:
- Brush your teeth at least twice a day with fluoride toothpaste
- Floss daily
- Visit your dentist twice a year for checkups
Help for Nervous Patients
We understand how real dental anxiety is for many people. That’s why we take extra measures to ensure that patients are comfortable at every visit. Our practice features ceiling-mounted TVs, so you can watch your favourite show on Netflix or YouTube. We also offer noise cancellation headphones and stress balls to help keep anxiety at bay.
You can also choose to have treatment under conscious sedation, which is a nitrous or happy gas. We can also do oral sedation (prescription based only) through medication. You would take this an hour before your dental treatment.
Your Little One’s First Visit
Once your child develops teeth, it’s good to bring in for the first checkup. The purpose of their initial visit is to familiarise themselves with our practice environment and our team. Kids can get a ride up and down on the chair and watch a program during their visit. We are pleased to accept the Child Dental Benefits Schedule, which covers all routine dental services including checkup, cleans, extractions and more.
We invite you to book an appointment today!
