Dr Poonam Lanjewar brings over a decade of dental practice to our Newcastle community, combining a distinctive background in both dentistry and nursing. After earning her Bachelor of Dental Surgery in India, where she successfully managed her own clinic, Dr Poonam was drawn to Australia for its work-life balance and to be closer to family. Her path led her to Adelaide, where she completed a Bachelor of Nursing from Flinders University, establishing her residency in Australia.

After developing a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry, she enjoys helping patients achieve confident smiles. Her services include cosmetic enhancements, fillings, extractions, and comprehensive general dentistry – all delivered with her characteristic gentle touch.
The most enjoyable part of my work is witnessing the happiness of my patients with their treatment outcome, be it addressing their dental fear, alleviating pain or enhancing their smile experience.

When not caring for patients, Dr Poonam values time with her family and enjoys relaxing walks and long drives. She has a deep passion for Bharatnatyam, a form of classical Indian dance, and aspires to one day earn a degree in this traditional art form.
