Dr Heather Oesterheld, Dentist

I had the loveliest dentist growing up, who made coming to the dentist a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I want to emulate that for all my patients.”

For Dr Oesterheld, dentistry is a fantastic profession, whilst it’s in the medical field, it allows for creativity. She also enjoys meeting new people of all ages and backgrounds, and being able to help them in any way she can.

Before joining the 7 Pearls Dental team, Dr Oesterheld began her career in regional NSW, in Muswellbrook and Scone, which was a tremendous experience. She saw a vast variety of patients.

Education and Experience

To prepare for her dental career, Dr Oesterheld earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Sydney in 2020. She also holds a Bachelor of Health Science, major of Movement Science, USYD (2015).

To stay abreast of the latest in the field, Dr Oesterheld takes various continuing education courses. To date, she’s taken Anxiety Control in Dentistry and Surgical Dentistry for the General Dentist. She plans to take courses in orthodontics and prosthodontics. “I love that dentistry allows for lifelong learning and there’s always something new we can learn and implement for our patients.”

Outside the Practice

When she’s not caring for patients’ smiles, Dr Oesterheld enjoys running, yoga, and lots of coffee and croissants with friends. She also loves swimming and has participated in a few ocean swims. Her goal is to learn how to surf.
